I’ve always admired people who could sit down and breeze through book after book, somehow retaining every word. That just wasn’t me. For the longest time, I struggled with reading and retaining what I read.
But then I discovered something that changed the game for me: audiobooks.
With audiobooks, I found myself not only retaining more but also actually enjoying the process. Suddenly, the words were sticking, the lessons were clearer, and my hunger to learn grew.
And here’s the wild part—after never understanding how people could read multiple books at once, I now find myself doing exactly that. Over the past few months, I’ve been working through two books at the same time: How to Worship a King and Practicing the Way. Both are rich, challenging, and exactly what I need in this season.
Looking ahead, my “to be read” list includes Emotional Intelligence and The 360° Leader. Growth in leadership, growth in awareness, growth in faith—it’s all connected.
But here’s the bigger picture: over the last three years, I’ve started not just reading about Jesus, but actually applying what I’m learning to my life. And that’s the real transformation. Books are tools, but the fruit shows up in how I live my walk with Him.
So let me ask you: how’s your walk with Jesus?
Not in a “check the box” kind of way, but in a real, “are you moving forward with Him?” kind of way.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about how many books we finish—it’s about how much of Him we carry into our everyday lives.
