When you hear the phrase true love, what comes to mind? Maybe it’s a person, a story, or even a fairy tale. But let me ask you this: do you think of Jesus?
Is He your true love—or just a passing thought when life feels extra heavy or extra good?
The truth is, we were created for relationship with Him. That’s our purpose. Our main goal in this life is to know Jesus, and for Him to know us. And the beautiful thing? He already does—every part of us.
I’m reminded of this often by Marshal, my older pup. Every morning, no matter where I go in the house, Marshal follows me. If I’m moving, he’s moving. And the second I finally pause (which, let’s be real, is rare—hello ADHD 😅), he settles right at my feet. His greatest joy is being as close to me as I’ll allow him to be.
And when I look down at him, something stirs in me. I think: This is how I want to be with Jesus.
To follow Him wherever He goes. To stay close. To sit at His feet—not rushing off to the next thing, not distracted by noise, but just being with Him.
That’s true love. That’s the relationship we’re called into.
So maybe this week is your reminder, too. To carve out time. To linger. To sit at His feet. Because closeness with Him isn’t just part of life—it is life.
✨ Let’s choose true love, every single day.
